About The Liberty Review
The Liberty Review is an independent publication launched in 2026 by it's founder Kai Wood, with essays spanning politics, economics, and philosophy with a focus on individual liberty and the current institutions of open society.
Our History
When examining the history of classical liberalism, from John Locke to Adam Smith to John Stuart Mill to Friedrich Hayek, and many more, it is difficult to see how we arrived at this present moment, where liberties are being subtracted from the individual. At The Liberty Review all share a common passion for the acquisition of knowledge in those matters that have shaped human lives throughout history. We believe the answers lie chiefly in politics, economics, and philosophy, which have, historically, been far more closely intertwined than they often appear today. Through these essays, we aim to explore and communicate these ideas, examine how the liberal tradition has evolved into today’s society and institutions, how it relates to the individual, and to encourage meaningful conversation while furthering our own understanding along the way.
Our Approach
The Liberty Review is independent. The views and ideas expressed on this platform are those of individual writers, not institutions or organisations. We write with clarity, clear argument, and long form thinking on ideas which we judge to have value, on our journey towards individual liberty
